Divorce vs Dissolution

The Difference between Divorce and Dissolution is simply a matter of Order, as in the order in which the documents are presented to the Court. When filing for a Dissolution, there is a Petitioner I and Petitioner II, thus a Petition for Dissolution is filed. When filing for Divorce, there is a Plaintiff and Defendant and a Complaint for Divorce is filed. Both Divorce and Dissolution require a Separation Agreement, if children are of issue, a Parenting Plan and a Child Support Worksheet are also required. Finally the Judgment Entry that incorporates all the documents as an Order of Court. Consequently, when filing a Dissolution, all the documents are filed at the time the Petition is filed. When filing a Divorce, all the Documents are submitted to the Court at the final hearing. Either way, it is simply a matter of order.
